Why Annotate Live?
Live annotations streamline communication, ensuring all stakeholders (e.g., electricians, architects) clarify quantities or measurements directly on the plan, reducing errors.
All annotations sync instantly and are visible to anyone with access to the takeoff.
- To Access a Takeoff and Start Annotating:
- Open the Takeoff Workspace.
- Open a Project
- Go to the Bid Packages tab
- Select a Bid Package
- Open the Takeoff associated with that bid package
- Add Annotations:
- Comment – Leave notes or questions directly on the plan
- Text – Add standalone text labels
- Freehand – Draw freely for quick markups
- Dimensions – Add visual dimension references
- Rectangle
- Circle
- Cloud
- Highlight
- Arrow
- Line
- Arc
- Hyperlink – Link to external resources or references
- Named View – Save and return to specific views on the plan
You can use the following annotation options:
Annotations
Shapes - Use these to call attention to areas, scope changes, or review items.
Lines - Helpful for pointing, tracing, or emphasizing specific details.
Plan Navigation
- How Live Annotation Works
- Select an annotation tool from the toolbar
- Click on the plan to place or draw the annotation
- Add notes or visuals as needed (e.g., “Confirm door width: 36 in”)
- Changes sync instantly for all collaborators
