IT Onboarding Instructions
Get your team ready to use TrueBuilt
This section helps IT and admins prepare their environment so users can start using TrueBuilt smoothly and without interruptions.
Recommended System Requirements
TrueBuilt is a web-based application and does not require special hardware or operating systems.
Minimum Requirements
- Operating System: Any modern OS (Windows, macOS, etc.)
- Browser: Any modern browser (except those based on the Firefox engine)
- Device: Desktop or laptop
- CPU: Dual-core 2.0 GHz (Intel Core i3 / AMD Ryzen 3)
- RAM: 4 GB
- GPU: Integrated (Intel HD 620 / AMD Vega 3)
- VRAM: 512 MB (shared)
Recommended for Best Experience
- Browser: Google Chrome or Microsoft Edge (latest version)
- Screen Resolution: 1280×800 or higher
- Internet: Stable broadband connection
- CPU: Quad-core 2.5 GHz+ (Intel Core i5 / AMD Ryzen 5)
- RAM: 8 GB or more
- GPU: Dedicated (NVIDIA GTX 1050 / AMD RX 560 or Apple M1)
- VRAM: 2 GB (dedicated)
💡 While TrueBuilt works on most browsers, Chrome and Edge provide the best performance and reliability.
IT Action Items Before Onboarding
Please complete the following steps before your team begins onboarding.
1. Network Whitelisting
Ensure the following domain is whitelisted on your network and firewall to prevent access issues:
truebuilt.app
2. Browser Setup
- Install Google Chrome (Microsoft Edge is also supported) on all workstations that will access TrueBuilt
- If you experience any browser-related issues, please notify the TrueBuilt support team
3. User List Preparation
- You can add users directly from the Admin (by group), or send the users ahead of time to: support@truebuiltsoftware.com
4. Database Migration (Optional)
If you would like to migrate data from an existing system:
- Provide the following files:
.MDBor.BAK
- Imported data includes:
- Items
- Assemblies
- Payroll classes
- Selected related tables
- Not included in migration:
- Projects
- Takeoffs
⚠️ While self-migration is available, we strongly recommend allowing the TrueBuilt team to handle the migration to ensure data accuracy.
5. Single Sign-On (Optional)
For organizations using Google or Microsoft accounts:
- SSO (Single Sign-On) can be enabled upon request
- Email support@truebuiltsoftware.com to get started
✅ Once these steps are completed, your team will be ready to begin onboarding and using TrueBuilt.
